Recycling update

From October 2008 to October 2009 we have had an impressive response to our recycling scheme and have collected a massive: 678 ink cartridges, 194 ink ink toners, 29 mobile phones and have raised just under £660! This has prevented approximately half a tonne of waste from being dumped in landfill sites.

By Christmas this money will have been distributed to each of the sections and an announcement will be made here of what the monies have been spent on.

We have an additional 78 ink cartridges and 103 ink toners of which we are waiting payment for, these will be added onto this years scheme.

Thank you for your support throughout the past year and we hope that you can continue to support us through the next coming year.

On Friday 19th February 2010, 12 young people and leaders from the Brigades at Lyndon will be travelling to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. The group will take part in a 45 minute guided tour which will include the House of Commons, the Houses of Lords and the famous Clock Tower (Big Ben). The tour will provide the young people with an opportunity to see how the U.K. parliamentary system works and gain an insight into U.K. politics. We very much hope that this will prove to be an informative and enjoyable day out and we hope to make this a permanent feature of our programme for the young adults within the Brigades.

Lyndon Brigades' featuring in BAND AID Christmas Concert. Saturday 19th December at Lyndon Methodist Church from 7:30pm. Cost £3.50 per ticket, includes mince pie and mulled wine. Raising funds to purchase new equipment for the band.
